Job Description

This Sr. Accountant position will be involved in ongoing financial closing and reporting, helping ensure deadlines are met, while maintaining compliance and meeting regulatory requirements. They will be detail oriented, and demonstrate a proven ability to provide accurate and timely information to support management decisions. In addition, the employee will play a vital role in the evaluation of and improvement in our financial processes.   
To support our growth plan in future years, this position will engage/interact with Cost Accounting and General Accounting Managers to learn systems and process details in the area of cost accounting, monthly closing, reporting, documentation, budgeting, forecasting, ongoing reconciliation, etc.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Perform senior-level accounting activities requiring the use of professional concepts
  2. Assist in development and documentation of business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls 
  3. Collaborate with colleagues for problem resolution and financial analysis
  4. Analyze financial information and summarize results for leadership team
  5. Fully supports compliance with GAAP and IFRS 
  6. Advises management of internal control concerns, and fully supports Accounting requirements, policies, and regulations.
  7. Opportunity to participate in assessment of current finance operations, offering recommendations and participation in implementing new processes.  
  8. Participate and support external audits and tax preparation
  9. Maintains open communications with all members of management to help ensure accuracy of financial reporting
 Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. Masters/CPA preferredSelf-motivated and active team member with strong follow-up skillsStrong Analytical, organizational, and communications skillsManufacturing finance experience in a fast paced environment and/or CPA Audit experience required. 5 years of Accounting experience requiredStrong G/L experience is requiredExperience with ERP systems, preferably MapicsAdvanced Excel user.  Other Office Product skills required.
