Job Description
Patient Account Rep
Be part of our local medical community! Immediate need for a Patient Account Rep to work at local clinic in Rockford. Responsible for medical billing, including remittance and collections.
Hours: 8am to 4:30pm, Mon-Fri
Patient Account Rep Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter payments, adjustments, patient demographics and insurance information
- Collect data for routine reporting and publication of Accounts Receivable
- Manage Accounts Receivable and collection percentages
- Accomplish projects as a team member or individual as assigned
- Perform other duties as may be assigned
Patient Account Rep Requirements:
- Ability to follow-through, assume responsibility and use good judgment
- Maintain professional demeanor under stressful situations
- Ability to work professionally with patients, their families and friends, and fellow employees
- Good oral and written communication
- Strong computer literacy with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Scheduler)
- CPT and ICD9 terminology
- HIPAA, Medicare/FQHC, Medicaid/FQHC experience
- Knowledge of medical billing systems: patient/insurance financial management
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work with minimum/no supervision
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years in general/medical office administration, or a combination of experience and training that would be equivalent
