Job Description
Safety Coordinator - MonroeM-F 7am-3: 30pm$25/hr BOE
Job Summary:
Safety Coordinators are responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing company' s employee safety at work. Their main duty is to ensure that the company is in compliance and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries.
Job Responsibilities:
• Advise on provisions to minimize safety risks
• Develop and enforce OSH policies (e.g. accident reporting process)
• Direct accident investigation procedures
• Keep records of safety-related incidents and propose corrective actions
• Organize and conduct OSH training plans
• Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues
• Intervene in unsafe activities or operations
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Proven experience as safety coordinator or similar
• In-depth knowledge of OSH guidelines and practices
• Experience in reporting and developing policies
• Experience in implementing OSH training programs
• Proficient in MS Office
• Excellent communication and advisory skills
• Diligent with an analytical mind
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Food manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
• Moderately strenuous work involving standing, walking with frequent bending, twisting, pushing and squatting; Repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally kneeling to inspect and clean equipment and use of ladders
• Fast-paced clean environment; frequently cool, wet, and moderate noise along with working with chemicals
